Spanish Verb Estar

1.) Ella allí.
I am working at home today.
2.) trabajando en casa hoy.
I am sick.
3.) enfermo.
She and I are married.
4.) Ella y yo casados.
We are at the hotel.
5.) en el hotel.
She is eating in the restaurant.
6.) Ella comiendo en el restaurante
We are in the bar.
7.) Nosotros en el bar.
The bank is on the right, or The bank is to the right.
8.) El banco a la derecha.
Today, the sea is very calm.
9.) Hoy, el mar muy calmado.
I like being at home. (Tricky - This is how we say it in Spanish)
10.) Me gusta en casa.

Estar = to be

We use “estar” to talk about physical state, emotions, etc.
Eg:
estoy feliz (I am happy).
Estoy enamorada (I am in love).

To talk about physical positions.
Eg:
El ayuntamiento está en la plaza. (The Town Hall is in the square).
Estamos en casa. (We are at home).

To talk about a temporary states.
Estoy enfermo. (I am ill).

To give your opinion about an event, film, etc.
Eg:
Esta exposición está muy bien. (This show is very good).

To speak about marital status.
Eg:
Estoy casado. (I am married).
Estoy soltero. (I am single).

To form the negative of all Spanish verbs, you simply place the word "no" in front of the verb.
Eg:
Tengo = I have, No tengo = I do not have.
