Preterito Perfecto Simple - Spanish Verbs

The Pretérito Perfecto Simple or Pretérito Indefinido of the Indicative Mood is generally used to talk about the past, to mention a past action that took place in a specific moment of the past.

Regular Spanish Verbs

The regular verb group endings are listed below.

TIP: Most Spanish verbs fall under the -ar group. The -er group and -ir group follow the same endings rules.

Irregular Spanish Verbs

Remember, although the Spanish verbs are divided in regular and irregular, regular verbs can be irregular under certain tenses. Look at the irregular verbs "coger" and "ser".

coger ser
I cogí fui
You cogiste fuiste
He/She/it cogió fue
We cogimos fuimos
You(all) cogisteis fuisteis
